Passenger Solar Boat 4

Solar Sea Bus

Solar powered sea bus for commercial use.

The Sea Bus allows for emission and noise free transportation across rivers, canals and lakes as well as nature reserves, port cities and island clusters.  The shipyard also builds a Sea Bus for open sea operations incorporating (in addition to solar) a back-up generator or diesel electric engines or both.

The roof of the Sea Bus consists of 30 highly efficient solar panels with an overall performance of more than 10kWh. Two 25 kW electric motors are the driving force for a cruising speed of 6-7 knots. Due to the powerful lithium-ion batteries the Solar Sea Bus is as reliable at night and during cloudy days as it is in sunshine. The light, sturdy design results in minimal water displacement which in turn reduces energy consumption.

With a capacity of 50-100 passengers the Sea Bus is the intelligent solution for daily transportation. Because of its independence from fossil fuels and minimal maintenance requirements the operational costs are low. At Entropia we assist clients to calculate the return on their Sea Bus investment as compared to conventional ferries.
